![]() | “QWERTY” |
This little anacrostic sketch satirises the famous controversy over the origins of the "QWERTY" keyboard layout and the supposed superior system invented by Dvorak. (Incidentally, Dvorak is a distant realtion of the Czech composer, Antonín Dvořák!)
If you're not up on the history of the typewriter keyboard layout, check out this article on the Dvorak system.
The anacrostic should be read as two columns: first, the column starting "Qwerty Wondrously...", all the way to the bottom, and then back to the top for the second column. Note that the order of the letters in both columns follows the order in which the keys are laid out in each respective system.
